The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of the most famous trekking routes in the world. It has a duration of 4 days and 3 nights, a length of 42 kilometers / 26 miles, and passes through an impressive variety of natural and archaeological landscapes. Along the way, hikers will have the opportunity to visit ancient Inca ruins, and appreciate views of the Peruvian Andes and rainforest. They will also get to know truly authentic Andean villages. The route is done with the help of expert guides and porters, and each night is spent in a campsite, with all the comforts and receiving a re-energizing diet. The trek is challenging and requires good physical condition, but the reward of reaching Machu Picchu on foot makes it all worthwhile.

The expedition to the Laguna de los Condores, in the department of San Martin, is an incredible experience for those seeking a truly authentic and demanding adventure. This beautiful lagoon is only accessible on foot as it is located 12 hours from Leymebamba. Although it is possible to do a good part of the route on horseback to reduce the physical demands, it is still necessary to be in very good physical condition. The Lagoon of the Condors is famous for the mausoleums of the Chachapoya culture that surround it, where more than 200 intact mummies were found and are now exhibited in the Leymebamba museum. To make this expedition, at least 4 nights are required, two of which take place in a very basic and rustic traditional shelter. The landscapes of cloudforest ridges along the route, and in the lagoon itself, are truly impressive.
